SLJ - STRANGEST PLANTS IN THE WORLD

STRANGEST PLANTS IN THE WORLD.

I CHOSE THE VENUS FLY TRAP AND THE PITCHER PLANT AS MY STRANGEST PLANTS.

SIMILARITIES.

THEY ARE SIMILAR BECAUSE THEY BOTH EAT FLYS AND STUFF SO ARE BOTH CARNIVOROUS.
BOTH PLANTS HAVE UNUSUAL LEAF STRUCTURES AND ARE VERY COOL.
BOTH PLANTS HAVE SPECIAL ENZYMES TO DIGEST PREY.

DIFFERENCES.

VENUS FLYTRAPS USE THERE LOBES(LEAVES) TO TRAP PREY, PITCHER PLANTS TRAP THERE PREY IN SPECIAL LIQUID.
PITCHER PLANTS SMELL NICE TO ATTRACT PREY, VENUS FLYTRAPS DO NOT.
VENUS FLYTRAPS GROW IN CANADA, PITCHER PLANTS DO NOT.

THIS PHOTO IS OF A PITCHER PLANT AND IS FROM GETTY IMAGES.

  1. Kia Ora Daniel,

You have done a great job comparing and contrasting the Venus Flytrap and The Pitcher Plant. They are interesting plants aren’t they! I think I would need to get a few of both of the plants to help control the fly problem we have here at my house! That’s awesome that you got to see the Venus Flytraps in Canada. Did you go for a visit to Canada and see the Venus Flytraps or did you used to live over in Canada?

    Blog ya later!

  2. Hi Daniel,

Congratulation on completing a number of activities this summer. We have loved seeing you involved in the Summer Learning Journey and hope you have enjoyed yourself too!

I see you included image attribution in your post, ka pai. That is so great to see! I also love that you included your own personal photo from Canada. Did you used to live in Canada or did you go for a holiday? Canada is on the top of my bucket list! I would love to go to the winter and go skiing. What season did you get to experience?

Looking forward to visiting Ohaeawai School in February!

    Nga mihi,
    Georgia.
