A few days ago my mum, my brother George, Haley and I went and found a old grave from the gold rush. my mum got down to the headstone with a piece of paper and charcoal to do some rubbing.
My mother did some research, this is his name: Leonard Samuel Tilly Greer

That is so clever! What a good idea to do a rubbing of the headstone. Was it tricky to find out what the words said? It is pretty cool that you could find out some information about the guy, and even some photos! I wonder what other old treasures you will find in the forest.

ReplyDeleteI see the weather has warmed up in the Yukon. What an interesting activity! Makes you wonder why that poor guy died. He's been dead for almost 100 years and now you guys are using his headstone to produce works of art. I bet, if he could see you that he would be perfectly happy about this. Have you seen any wolves or bears? Take care of yourselves because we all want to hear your stories when you get back.
